Hearing Testing
2020 marked the 15th year of operation for the Niaz Foundation School for Special Needs Children. Thanks to your love, support, and donations along with the dedication of our teachers and volunteers, we have grown stronger each year
Over the years we have observed that deafness and hearing issues are significant problem in the region. Approximately 80% of the children who come to us face hearing difficulties. Many of these children appear to have hereditary issues, with parents, siblings, and close relatives show the same hearing impairments.
Our long-term goal of providing hearing tests and supplying hearing aids gained significant momentum in 2019.
Our hearing testing program has revealed that nearly 60% of these children have improved their hearing with the use of hearing aids. In the private sector, testing and supplying hearing aids is extremely expensive, making it difficult for individuals from rural areas or with financial constraints to access this specialised equipment.
Our academic program is thriving and our vocational program offers a variety of options that are highly popular.
As a result of this, we are proud to announce the Niaz Foundation Hearing Testing Centre. This will be the only facility of its kind offering free services within the local area.
The aim of the project is as follows
Phase 1
Refurbish a room in the building for hearing testing, including the provision of equipment and soundproofing.
Phase 2
Ensuring that every child entering the school undergoes mandatory hearing testing and provide and fit hearing aids necessary.
Phase 3
Reach out to the immediate families of our students with hearing problems to provide testing and, where applicable supply and fit of hearing aids.
Phase 4
Our ultimate goal is to reach out to the general public and local community to provide hearing testing and supply and fit hearing aids.
It is unacceptable for people to live without the ability to hear simply due to financial constraints, especially when effective treatments are available. All services offered, as with all projects of Niaz Foundation will be provided free of charge.
