School Staff

All staff appointed at the school is employed from the local area - hence increasing employment opportunities in the areas. All staff undergoes special training provided by the Social Services Department (Government Of Pakistan) free of charge with regards to teaching with people with disabilities. The principle has prerequisites of having worked in education with people with disabilities. It is also an aim of the Board Of Trustees to increase equal opportunities and women’s rites within the area and hence always looks to employ a diverse range of staff within the given population.

School staff includes one principle who is responsible for the academic and day to day running of the School. In support of the Principle a Secretary and Clerk are responsible for all correspondence and paperwork with regards to the School. They also aid the Principle in his/her duties. Academic staff consists of seven to eight fully trained teachers alongside four classroom assistants aiming to provide help to the main teachers. All teachers and support staff are accountable to the Principle.

The School also looks to employ non-academic staff including a gardener responsible for the upkeep of the School grounds, a cleaner responsible for cleaning the School premises.

The Board Of Trustees implements a line management system where every member of the School staff will be accountable by its senior or line manager.

The Principle expects academic reports from all staff. It is aimed that progress reports will be sent to parents on an annual basis.

School Curriculum

Niaz Foundation School For Special Need Children is the only school where the utmost importance is given on subjects such as English, Maths and Science. Children are also taught Social Studies where they learn key social skills that will aid them in future - for example applying for jobs and integrating with other members within there social and academic fields. The academic curriculum is taken from the Government Of Pakistan Education Department and fully complies with all Government standards.

Alongside academic education the School aims to educate its children in more practical skills which may benefit them in society. For example - boys are taught Mechanics of cars and bikes and girls are taught handicrafts - both specialist areas in Pakistan offering many employment opportunities.

Physical education is also embedded within the academic curriculum. It is believed a good standard of physical exercise will benefit the children both physically and mentally and will allow students time away from more academic surroundings.

School Site Plan

The School grounds incorporate a Principles office, Secretaries and clerks office, staff room, a large hall for meetings, assemblies and indoor physical education, eight purpose built classrooms for teaching, a computer room, a silent room for hearing testing four toilets, one large toilet for wheelchair access and male and female staff toilets. A large grass area has also been allocated outside in order for any physical education and to act as a playground.

The site has been visited buy The Government Of Pakistan Social Services Engineers Department who have welcomed the design and layout and also helped on suggestions for wheelchair access at all entrances and exits, hand rails to aid walking, lowered light switches for wheel chair access and sound proof rooms in order to aid students who are hard of hearing. The hearing testing room will are purpose built in order to analyse the hearing status of the students and any progress made throughout the course of study.
